Perfect Kitesurfing Spot, Kitesurfing holiday destination Kenya

Learn how to kitesurf on one of the most stunning beaches in Kenya. We follow International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) standards to get you up riding in no time and in the safest way possible!

We have Two main seasons:

- December and March (Kaskazi): Consistent 13-18 knots blowing cross-onshore (north east)

- May to October (Kuzi): Consistent 17-31 knots blowing cross-onshore (south east)

- November and April brings sporadic winds of 8-13 knots (great for foil sessions)

We offer courses for any/all riding levels. If you’re a total beginner, start with a 7h course to see what kiting is all about! If you’ve had a long break and need a recap, take a 3h refresher course. We even offer supervised rentals should you wish to refine your skills before renting with confidence from us.

Already know how to kite? You can rent the newest F-One gear at our centre! Our beach assistants are there to set up your kite, help you launch / land and keep an eye on you while you’re on the water.

IKO PRO TRAINING COURSES IN 2023

Would you like to turn your kitesurfing passion into a way of living and travel at the same time?

IKO pro training courses allow you to work as an instructor around the world! There are over 250 affiliated kite centres in 60 countries, so you have plenty of destinations to choose from. It’s also great if you simply want to improve your theoretical skills, such as kite technology, wind and weather patterns and aerodynamics. It will also massively improve your riding skills as you will focus a lot on common mistakes and how to solve them. 

Why should you do a kitesurfing instructor course in Kilifi? 

Kilifi is a real kitesurfing paradise,  with consistent wind blowing cross on-shore with an average of 13-18 knots. The beach is sandy and wide, which makes it a great training condition, both for a newby instructor and your students. The water temperature is about 28 degrees, so you can leave your wetsuit at home.  

Your examiner will be Xavier Roussos.

Kite gear is provided for the whole course. Please have your harness, 50N buoyancy aid, helmet and water booties (the reef gets exposed at low tide).
